Something of a hoo-ha has broken out following following The Green Report. It deals with future leaders of the Church of England and contains proposals for an MBA style course for those identified as being high fliers. Many people dislike the report for reasons as varied as its lack of theological thought, its excess of corporate cliche and that it was written by an obscure unaccountable group. See here for a flavour of the reactions. What may be of interest to visitors to this site is that the report gives no attention to the extensive experience amongst MSEs of managementment, leadership and accountability in the so-called secular world. Such experience continues to be below the church-as-institution's radar yet may be thought a source of possibly useful insight. One must be careful here, because the lead author - The Revd Lord Stephen Green - is himself an MSE, of sorts: former big cheese at HSBC and ex-Trade Minister, enobled for the purpose.
